Japanese Publisher to Print Short Runs on Océ ColorStream 10000 Flex

<p>Venlo, The Netherlands, 3 February 2011 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management and delivery, today announced that Japanese publisher Dai-ichi Hoki has invested in an Océ ColorStream® 10000 Flex for printing of its short-run publications. This new printing system will replace offset printing devices at the company’s printing facility.</p> <p><strong>Specialized in short-run legal and technical books <br /></strong>Dai-ichi Hoki Co. Ltd. is a publisher specializing in law-related books. Since its foundation in 1903, the company has published books for the Japanese Government and municipalities as well as for legal experts such as lawyers, accountants and tax attorneys. A characteristic feature of technical book printing is its extremely diverse range of topics, which are brought onto the market by means of short printing runs.</p> <p>Dai-ichi Hoki's books are printed and bound by a group internal printing company, which previously utilized conventional offset printing equipment. As Dai-ichi Hoki's business model is however based on providing short-run technical books, the traditional offset technology was no suitable match any more.</p>

Survey: Companies Gaining Business Benefits but also Missing Opportunities with Document Imaging

<p>New York, N.Y. (January 31, 2011) – A solid majority of records managers report that their company is gaining critical business benefits from document imaging (converting paper to digital) that include improving operational efficiency (77%) and enhancing customer service (72%). However, other potential gains are largely untapped: Only 50 percent of executives indicate that their organization uses document imaging to enhance regulatory compliance, while even fewer (21%) say their company leverages document imaging to increase competitive advantage.</p> <p>These are a few of the important findings highlighted in a comprehensive survey report issued today by Océ Business Services, a leader in document process management and electronic discovery. &quot;A Winning Formula: Achieving Top Performance in Records Management,&quot; spotlights the extent to which organizations across a variety of industries are leveraging some of the essential components of effective records management to meet today's business challenges and win in their markets.</p> <p>The survey highlights industry issues such as growing compliance risks and how companies are using their current records programs to obtain important business benefits. Océ North America Announces Availability of Canon's uniFLOW Output Management Software
