Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. Announces Internal Promotions to Executive Management Team

IRVINE, Calif. (April 8, 2008) – In a move that recognizes the talents and contributions of its internal management team and further strengthens the leadership of the company, Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced the promotions of several key employees.  Effective April 1, 2008, TABS has promoted Steve Rhorer to vice president and general manager, Electronic Imaging Division (EID), responsible for managing the Electronic Imaging Division’s (EID) strategic operations, and Michael Mathé to vice president and general manager, overseeing the newly formed International Division. 

Other promotions announced include Toshihiko Minato as deputy chief operating officer, EID and Toshiba Business Solutions (TBS); Nobuo Fukazawa as assistant chairman and chief information officer (while retaining his current position as senior vice president, Strategic Business Planning); Steve Tungate as vice president and general manager, Strategic Business Planning and Supply Chain Management; Denise O’Donnell as vice president of Information Technology; and Sue Wilson as vice president, Supply Chain Management.

Ricoh Americas Corporation recently announced the new GlobalScanTM 3.1 with Workflow Suite, powered by NSi’s AutoStore® and the partnership provides a significant enhancement to the already powerful GlobalScanTM product.

Included with the new GlobalScanTM 3.1 product are several scanning plugin features that allow the Ricoh MFP systems to seamlessly connect directly to various destinations. For example, the Scan-to-XML plug-in allows the Ricoh MFP system to scan a document and then send it to any supported backend system such as an ERP or electronic document management system. Users are able to design personalized workflows for any given scan job that allow them to streamline their business processes thus creating the most efficient workflow based on their needs at the time.

Americans are at a digital loss to protect personal and financial information

MAHWAH, N.J., April 8, 2008 – As Americans do their taxes, a majority are unaware that they may be putting personal and financial information required on tax returns in jeopardy.  According to a recent survey by Sharp Electronics Corporation, almost half of all Americans are unaware of the danger of using insecure public copiers and printers, leaving themselves at risk for data theft if a copier is not equipped with data security measures. The survey, conducted by Roper on behalf of Sharp in February 2008, polled 1,004 adults regarding their perceptions of digital copier security.

Another survey item of note indicated that 60 percent of Americans don’t know about the ability of a digital photocopier to store a document image on the hard drive, which could be later retrieved by a hacker.

Riso, Inc Continues its Enviromental Leadership Through a Partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation

HP Unveils Imaging and Printing Devices, Solutions and Services for Enterprises

PALO ALTO, Calif., April 8, 2008 - HP today announced a broad expansion of its imaging and printing portfolio for large businesses.

The company's latest offerings help enterprises manage, secure and simplify their imaging and printing environments and improve workflows to reduce costs and enhance productivity.

Konica Minolta Enters into Strategic Business Alliance Agreement with Océ

HP and State of California Initiate Environmental Printing Program with Goal to Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 500 Tons per Year

SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 7, 2008 - HP today announced it has partnered with the State of California to implement a print cartridge recycling and environmental printing program throughout State agencies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 500 tons per year after full implementation.(1)

The collaborative program couples print cartridge recycling with a unique rewards system that provides points toward upgrading printers to more efficient HP models. Piloted with the State Board of Equalization last year, the program begins with free return and recycling services for HP ink and toner cartridges through the HP Planet Partners program. If fully implemented statewide, the program would divert 100 tons of print cartridges from landfills annually.(2)
