Nuance Announces PaperPort PSP Desktop for HP Multifunction Printers

BOSTON --(Business Wire)-- Mar. 4, 2008 Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN), a leading provider of speech and imaging solutions, today announced PaperPort(R) PSP(TM) Desktop for HP based on the PaperPort Personalized Scanning Platform(TM) technology. The application enables customers to customize scanning menus of select HP multifunction printers (MFPs) directly from their desktop without IT support and provides unprecedented ease-of-use when sending scanned documents back to a computer from a networked HP MFP.



The PaperPort PSP Desktop is a suite of software built around PaperPort Professional technology that includes OmniPage Professional OCR and PDF Converter Professional software, all market leading imaging applications. Ricoh Simplifies Print Security with New Card Authentication Platform

Designed to control user’s access to multifunction products (MFPs), this platform allows administrators to authenticate users for scanning, faxing, copying, and printing from a central MFP.Document security is a major concern at any organization, but especially those in which employees utilize centralized MFPs. To address this issue, the Card Authentication Platform requires that users log in at the MFP by swiping their existing identification card, such as their building ID badge. Some of the cards enabled to use this platform include HID, Casi-Rusco and NexWatch.
