The 2nd annual ARMA International E-Discovery and Beyond Seminar has successfully concluded. The two-day, interactive event was held in New York City on March 31 – April 1 and was filled with education targeted specifically toward collaboration teams and professionals who manage records and information.

Attendees divided their time between networking with other professionals and attending sessions that sharpened their skills related to risk management, cost control, information governance, and compliance. Sessions focused on aligning the RIM, Legal, and IT departments with a focus on understanding how each compliance team must work together more effectively.

Newport News, Virginia, May 1, 2008 – Canon Inc. and Canon U.S.A., Inc. today joined Virginia state and local officials to announce Canon's plans to expand its U.S. operations with new facilities and jobs in the Hampton Roads, Virginia, area. With the assistance of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Canon is expected to invest more than $600 million to expand the operations of Canon Virginia Inc., a subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., and create more than 1,000 new jobs.

As part of Canon U.S.A. and Canon Virginia's "Vision for the Future" program, these expansion plans will include the construction of a new 700,000 square foot facility for the manufacturing of cartridges for laser printers that will incorporate Canon's proprietary high-speed, automated technology for cartridge production, and the expansion of its repair and refurbishing facilities for digital consumer products. In addition, Canon plans to create a center for the research and development of automated and robotic manufacturing technologies for the Americas region in Newport News, and to expand its efforts in the recycling and reclaiming of toner cartridges and related materials at its Industrial Resource Technologies, Inc. (IRT) operations in Gloucester County, Virginia.

West Caldwell, NJ,   May 01, 2008 — Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of office equipment in the United States, announced today it has acquired Associated Business Systems (ABS), a Ricoh dealer headquartered in Portland, OR. This acquisition signals a major expansion by Ricoh in the Pacific Northwest marketplace.

Effective immediately, Associated Business Systems will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Ricoh Americas Corporation and be known as Associated Business Systems – A Ricoh Company. Craig Knouf, president of ABS will remain in his current position and have day-to-day responsibility for all sales, service and administrative operations. Ljungby, Sweden (April 30, 2008) – Lasermax Roll Systems will be demonstrating the first modules of its new LX700 product line for roll-fed digital printers at Drupa 2008. This demonstration will be in their stand B61 in Hall 6 and will showcase significant advances in technology for cutting and stacking forms in-line with the fastest continuous feed digital printers.
