Océ Business Services brings Electronic Discovery Onsite with its dataDeliver eDiscovery Processing Service

New York, N.Y. (April 30, 2012) – Océ Business Services, a Canon Group company and a leader in managed business process services and electronic discovery (eDiscovery), today announced that one of the nation's largest law firms has signed a three-year agreement for Océ Business Services to implement its dataDeliver™ onsite eDiscovery processing service. The new service provides legal organizations with an electronic discovery solution deployed onsite as a managed service, helping to improve efficiency and client service while lowering costs and reducing risk.

An early pioneer in eDiscovery services and technology, Océ continues to leverage its proven technology and processes by providing outsourced document management and electronic discovery services to 20 of the top 50 Am Law 200 firms.

With dataDeliver, electronic discovery is performed onsite at an Océ document service center. A key benefit for law firms is reduced risk because client eDiscovery data never leaves the firm. Further, law firms and corporate legal departments can dictate the scope of the dataDeliver service as part of an electronic discovery best practice that seamlessly integrates with their eDiscovery processes.

Processing with dataDeliver begins when electronic media are attached to an Océ onsite server. This triggers an online work order that prompts Océ experts to log into the system and remotely process the electronic evidence utilizing Océ technology and leveraging electronic discovery industry best practices. The processed, searchable documents (in native and TIFF file formats) are then loaded into one of several document review platforms and made available for analysis, review and production.

In addition to reduced risk, Océ's eDiscovery processing system offers other critical advantages, particularly cost containment. With dataDeliver, clients pay a set monthly fee for unlimited processing throughput. Fast turnaround times, which start at three hours per media, are achieved seven days a week and in off hours. These benefits make eDiscovery processing more centralized, predictable and manageable. This eliminates the need for litigation staff to spend time – not related to the core practice of law – obtaining per-gigabyte processing prices and turnaround times from various vendors.

"Today's announcement highlighting our dataDeliver service and three-year agreement with one of the country's top law firms underscores the value of onsite eDiscovery processing," said Joe Marciano, president and CEO of Océ Business Services. "Legal organizations now have an effective alternative way to process discovery-related documents , quickly, securely and cost-effectively while also improving service."
