3D Platform announces the Pre-Release of the WorkCell 3D Printer.

Roscoe, Illinois, USA – May 17, 2019 – 3D Platform™ (3DP), a global leader in manufacturing large-format, industrial-strength 3D printers, is pleased to announce the prerelease of the WorkCell. With this new introduction, 3DP is adding a fully-enclosed, large-format 3D printer to its industrial strength portfolio. The WorkCell will be on display at booth #2047 at the RAPID+TCT show in Detroit, MI, May 21 – 23, 2019. “The WorkCell has been optimized to address the elevated print chamber temperatures required for the most demanding engineered materials.”

Key Strengths

The WorkCell printer addresses the desire by customers to print high temperature polymers while retaining all the advantages of an open market platform. The unique strength of this printer is its specially designed enclosure, which will allow for a heated build area that remains consistent for the entire print. This feature means:

  • The WorkCell will enable users to go beyond polymers that are typically printed in an open ambient environment.
  • Materials will include metal-filled, glass-filled, and carbon fiber-filled to improve mechanical properties, specifically: ABS/CF, ABS-X, ASA, HIPS, Nylon (PA), PC, PETG, PLA, PVA, TPU/TPE.

The WorkCell’s large build area maintains its place within the 3DP portfolio of industrial strength, large format printers, with a robust build area of more than 1 cubic meter! Within its interior, the WorkCell is constructed with industrial strength mechatronics that include:

  • High-performance motion controllers and AC Servo technology from Yaskawa
  • Rigid weldment frames to ensure machine tool grade performance
  • Industrial Linear guides and power transmission componentry

This portfolio has been optimized to address the elevated print chamber temperatures required for the most demanding Engineered materials

3DP will be shipping to select partners in 2019. Pre-orders on the WorkCell will be available during the RAPID+TCT show. Interested businesses can contact 3DP in person at the RAPID+TCT show Detroit, MI, May 21 – 23, 2019, or via our contact information listed below.
