Océ Premium Pigment Inks Make U.S. Premiere at Graph Expo

 Chicago, IL – October 7, 2012 – Océ, a Canon Group company and an international leader in digital document management, today announced that a new Premium Pigment Black ink for the Océ ColorStream® 3000 series, will be showcased at Graph Expo in Océ booth 400 at McCormick Place South in Chicago, October 7 - 10.

Originally introduced at drupa 2012, this is the first time Premium Pigment Black ink will be shown in the United States. Graph Expo attendees will be able to see it used in an educational book application printed on an Océ ColorStream 3000 series digital full-color inkjet printing system.

Premium Pigment Black is a fast immobilizing ink, keeping more of the ink at the media surface and improving optical density. The new Premium Pigment Black ink also enhances color images by extending shadow detail and increasing contrast levels.

Lightning Source Adds Color to POD with Océ ColorStream 3500 Inkjet Printing System

Océ Arizona Series Printers Ideal for Producing Membrane Switch Overlays

Trumbull, CT, Sept. 26, 2012 – Océ, a Canon Group Company and an international leader in digital document management and printing for professionals, announced today that Océ Arizona® Series UV flatbed printers can be part of a digital or hybid production system to create Membrane Switch Overlays (MSOs). Océ will be showing MSOs produced on an Océ Arizona Series printer in its booth #435 at the Specialty Graphic and Imaging Association (SGIA) annual exhibition in Las Vegas, October 18-20, 2012.

A membrane switch is a low profile flexible electrical device for turning a circuit on and off. Typically made up of several layers, the top layer – or overlay – is the graphic interface between the user and the machine. Used in a variety of products – from fuel pumps to microwave ovens – MSOs are everywhere. Current market projections indicate that the global printed electronics market, of which membrane switch printing is a component, is expected to grow to approximately $24 billion by 2015(1). There are approximately 150 companies in the U.S. that cite membrane switches as their primary product. In 2011, the outsourced portion of MSO printing was estimated at $700 million for the North American market(2).
