Kodak and Konica Minolta Debut Fully Integrated Workflow and Front-end Solutions at Print 13

(Konica Minolta) will demonstrate fully managed monochrome and color digital press solutions for commercial print and graphics communication professionals. Kodak Signs Agreement with Nimble Storage to Deliver High-Performance Solutions for the Virtualization of Production Environments

Rochester, N.Y. - Kodak has entered into an agreement with Nimble Storage, the leading provider of flash-optimized hybrid storage solutions. The agreement, effective May 2013, will allow Kodak to refer Nimble Storage products and services to Kodak customers who are moving their systems to a virtualized server environment. The agreement will initially launch as a pilot program in the United States with the opportunity to expand into other geographies.

Print service providers require solutions that provide flexible storage capacity, data protection, and performance capabilities that can grow with their workflow requirements—without resulting in higher in-house IT and labor costs. PMI Health Group Automates Data Capture Using a Kodak i4600 Production Scanner and PSIGEN Software Solution

Kodak DI Business Finds a Home

Eastman Kodak Company reached an agreement with the UK-based Kodak Pension Plan (KPP) for KPP to purchase Kodak’s Document Imaging (DI) and Personalized Imaging (PI) businesses for $650 million. This agreement also settles about $2.8 billion of claims by KPP against Kodak and certain affiliates, according to the company. Other proceeds will be used to support Kodak’s recovery from Chapter 11 and grow its Commercial Imaging business. The agreement will involve about 3,450 current DI and PI employees, including those in sales, service, manufacturing and R&D. The businesses will be able to retain the “Kodak” brand and can use “Kodak” in the new company name under the new ownership. Although the agreement must be approved by the court, the company expects the closing to be in the third quarter of 2013. Kodak Pension Plan is privately held and is Kodak’s largest non-secure creditor.


Kodak Enters into Agreement for Proposed Sale of Document Imaging Business to Brother Industries, Ltd.

Rochester, N.Y. -- Eastman Kodak Company has reached agreement with Brother Industries, Ltd., for the proposed sale of certain assets of its Document Imaging business for a cash purchase price of approximately $210 million, subject to certain price adjustments at closing. In addition, Brother will assume deferred service revenue liability of the business, which totaled approximately $67 million as of December 31, 2012.

Kodak’s Document Imaging business provides a comprehensive portfolio of scanners, capture software and services to enterprise customers. Brother is a leading global manufacturer of laser, label and multi-function printers, as well as fax machines and sewing machines.


Kodak Explores How Multi-Source Information Management Drives Business Efficiency and Growth at ITEX Conference
