New Desktop Scanners from Kodak Alaris Help Organizations Adopt Digital Workflows and Manage Documents

ROCHESTER, NY - June 2, 2015—Talk to office workers that are inundated with massive amounts of paper and you’ll hear a consistent set of challenges. They’re desperately seeking a better way to manage documents. They want to work smarter, not harder. And they need to unlock the power of information while saving time and money for their organization to be more successful.

Meanwhile, most office managers know they would benefit from implementing programs to reduce paper, but few have developed or executed a plan. According to “Winning the Paper Wars,” a study published by AIIM, “On average, respondents feel that driving paper out of the process would improve speed of response to customers, citizens, or staff by a factor of 4x.”

New Production Scanners from Kodak Alaris

ROCHESTER, N.Y., February 17—Service bureaus, business process outsourcers (BPOs), and large multinational organizations must quickly and accurately process massive amounts of paper. At the same time they must meet stringent service-level agreements and reduce costs. To keep their businesses running and paper processing, they need a scanner fleet that avoids jams and misfeeds and minimizes operator intervention—all while scanning more than 200 pages per minute. To address these demands, Kodak Alaris announces the KODAK i5850 Scanner—the next generation production scanner for operations looking for volume and speed without a hitch.

Intelligent Document Protection

Intelligent Document Protection is now available in the top of the range i5850 Scanner. The scanner “listens” to the sound of paper passing through and stops the machine if it “hears” paper crumpling. This avoids jams and paper damage from staples and misfeeds that can seriously disrupt operator productivity.

Kodak Alaris: New Central Scanning Solution Uses PC-Free Network Connectivity to Provide Easy Access to Work Teams

ROCHESTER, N.Y., July 23—A new line of network scanners from Kodak Alaris provides organizations with a central scanning solution that allows users to efficiently capture information from documents and route it into key business processes without the need for a dedicated PC. Until now, many organizations have been unable to automate some paper-based business processes because a PC isn’t appropriate for the work location (e.g. employees in a particular department don’t require PCs). In other instances, employees may have PCs but it’s preferable that they are limited to performing specific tasks. The KODAK Scan Station 700 Series is ideal for either scenario.

The KODAK Scan Station 700 Series connects directly to a network and sends data to multiple destinations simultaneously, including network drives, printers, FTP sites, email, portable USB drives and Microsoft SharePoint. It is designed to meet the needs of small businesses or branch offices of larger organizations in a variety of industries, including healthcare, finance, legal, government, travel and insurance.
