SmartSearch Product Overview
Introduction
Designed as a new direction in document management, SmartSearch has quickly become the definition of Document Intelligence for today’s business. SmartSearch offers businesses of all sizes a powerful, comprehensive and value driven solution built on the strength of Service Oriented Architecture and the Microsoft .NET platform.
Offered as a workgroup product, SmartSearch utilizes the power of Microsoft SQL Server ™ to drive the rapid retrieval of documents archived on the network. Through stored queries or content based searches, users can now locate any record in only a matter of seconds.
Once retrieved a document can be annotated, redacted or launched prior to its distribution to other users or outside parties. Easily emailed or faxed, information stored in SmartSearch is now available for others to use in their daily decision making processes. The integrity of annotated documents is always maintained as annotations are stored outside of the image file. This approach has an added benefit of allowing documents written to WORM media to be annotated.
Committed to its adherence of industry standards and open architecture, SmartSearch offers network administrators no restrictions to where records are archived. SmartSearch requires only local, mapped, or UNC drive access from the SmartSearch server for the secure storage of records to your network. Archived documents are now immediately available to users via LAN or WAN or VPN access.
SmartSearch offers options for extending the value of your investment through strategic partnerships with some of the most powerful products on the market including Kofax Capture for image and data capture, eCopy and NSi Autostore for MFP Panel Integration, Biscom and Castelle for fax management, and Objectif Lune for variable data and conditional print management archival.
NSi AutoStore Gives Large Belgian Law Firm “Competitive Edge”
Rockville, MD, June 17, 2010, Stibbe, a full-service Belgian law firm of over 150 specialists, has implemented a document automation solution from Notable Solutions, Inc. (NSi), a leading developer of distributed content capture and workflow solutions.
AutoStore is a server application which orchestrates the capture and secure delivery of paper and electronic documents into business applications. NSi supports more brands and more models of multifunction devices than any other software developer, including touch screen and control panel support for many older models.
Benefits Expand From One Department to the Entire Firm
Stibbe began using AutoStore to automate document workflow in its finance department. Documents there were captured using a networked document scanner. Within several months, AutoStore had been implemented throughout the firm to more efficiently capture, work with and securely store client documents. Using AutoStore, other departments in the law firm began scanning documents on MFPs too. Whether scanned on networked scanners or MFPs, AutoStore converts all of the firm’s documents to full-text-searchable PDF files and then delivers them to Microsoft SharePoint libraries and Interwoven’s iManage.
Ten Congressional Offices Choose NSi AutoStore™ to Capture Constituent Correspondence
Rockville, MD, May 25, 2010, Ten U.S. congressional offices have chosen AutoStore from Notable Solutions, Inc. (NSi), a leading developer of distributed content capture and workflow solutions, to capture correspondence from constituents. AutoStore’s advanced and broad support for MFP capture and integration with Lockheed Martin’s government-oriented Intranet Quorum® (IQ) content management system were key selection criteria.
Offices representing Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Mississippi and the state of Washington have purchased AutoStore so far.
AutoStore is a server application which orchestrates the capture and secure delivery of paper and electronic documents into business applications. NSi supports more brands and more models of multifunction devices than any other software developer, including touch screen and control panel support for many older models.
Solution Increases Capture Productivity by 1000 Percent
Each of the nation’s 435 congressional offices receives thousands of individual constituent communications each month. Each office is obligated to catalog and acknowledge receipt of all correspondence.
The AutoStore solution replaced a process that required manual scanning to email, re-saving and renaming each document and manual importation into the Lockheed IQ ECM system. “With AutoStore I can process 10 letters in the time it used to take for one letter,” says the office manager for an Illinois congressman.
Now, the congressman’s staff member logs in to the MFP using the touch screen and scans directly to the IQ system. Users may even search the IQ system for a specific constituent or mail record from the MFP’s control panel and append the correspondence to that individual’s archive.
Notable Solutions AutoStore Rated Highly in New Buyers Lab Review
Rockville, MD, March 17, 2010, Notable Solutions, Inc. (NSi), a leading developer of distributed content capture and workflow solutions, has earned five out of five stars in a new review of its AutoStore document capture platform from Buyers Laboratory, Inc. (BLI). Buyers Lab is a leading independent office-equipment testing lab and business consumer advocate.
Report: “Significant Productivity and Security Benefits”
AutoStore is a server-based application which orchestrates the capture and secure delivery of paper and electronic documents into business applications. According to the report: “NSi AutoStore 5 is a scalable document capture and routing solution that can deliver significant productivity and security benefits across a broad range of industries, including finance, legal, education, healthcare, government, manufacturing and construction.”
"In BLI's in-depth evaluation, NSi AutoStore 5 proved to be one of the most impressive document capture and routing solutions we've seen to date," said Jamie Bsales, senior product editor, Solutions, at BLI. "The range of MFPs and scanners it supports is unmatched, and the solution includes connectors to more than two dozen popular back-end software platforms out of the box."
“Broadest Hardware Compatibility That BLI Has Seen”
BLI performed extensive lab testing of AutoStore with a variety of current and even outdated models of MFPs and was particularly impressed with AutoStore’s compatibility and ease of use with all of them. According to the report: “NSi AutoStore has the broadest hardware compatibility that BLI has seen from any solution in any category offering integration with more than 500 TWAIN-compliant scanner and MFP models from nine leading makers, including Fujitsu, HP, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Kyocera Mita, Sharp, Xerox, Ricoh, Savin, Lanier and Gestetner.
“What's particularly impressive is that it offers touch-screen integration even with many older models, such as the eight-year-old Ricoh Aficio 1022 (now discontinued), that don't offer a convenient software platform to developers, such as the Embedded Software Architecture (ESA) of newer Ricoh MFPs. With competing third-party scan capture solutions, a costly add-on kiosk is required to support older MFPs.”
