IKON Uses Equivio Technology to Enhance Its Legal Enterprise Solutions
Ricoh Americas Corporation, a provider of digital office equipment and advanced document management solutions, has announced that Equivio’s data redundancy technology for near-duplicates and e-mail threads is now being used by IKON Office Solutions, a Ricoh company, through the IKON Litovation Solutions Electronic Discovery offering.
“Using Equivio’s proven technology to identify near-duplicates and email threads extends the value of the electronic discovery services we provide to our clients,” explains Vic Rainsford, Vice President, Ricoh U.S. Enterprise Services, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “By leveraging Equivio’s technology as a standard part of the IKON Litovation Solutions Electronic Discovery offering, we are able to help our clients expedite the discovery processes and reduce the cost and complexity of litigation review.”
The grouping of near-duplicates and e-mail threads allows attorneys to skip redundant data, while focusing exclusively on the unique information in each document. By enhancing the “findability” of data, Equivio reduces the risk of missing key information. The Equivio groupings also ensure similar documents are treated consistently, while enhancing review productivity and helping litigators meet tight deadlines.
“We are delighted that IKON has chosen to adopt Equivio’s technology,” said Amir Milo, CEO of Equivio. “With its pre-eminent client base and market position, IKON understands the demanding requirements from technologies in high-performance document management environments. The adoption of Equivio’s technology is helping IKON’s litigation clients address the ever-increasing volumes and complexity of electronic discovery and review.”

From BLI
November 6, 2008 - Recently-inducted NBA hall of famer Pat Riley, who coached teams including the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat to seven NBA World Championships, delivered the keynote speech on the second day of Ricoh’s 2008 dealer conference held recently in Orlando, Florida, explaining how he handled his wins—and more importantly, how he handled his losses. Riley told several other stories that illustrated the feelings of frustration when you think you’re doing a good job but still not breaking through, and then the knowledge, once you have broken through, that the work and the journey was worth it. That was the message he seemed to hope the dealers left the conference with—the willingness to accept challenges and turn them into victories, particularly when circumstances appear most trying. It was an apt message considering the economic climate during which the meeting was held.
