Colortrac Inc to Exhibit Advanced SmartLF GIS Map Scanning Solutions at the ESRI World-Wide User Conference
Colortrac, the leading developer of affordable, professional wide format scanning and imaging solutions, will showcase a comprehensive range of advanced high definition SmartLF large format map and technical document scanners at the ESRI World-Wide User Conference in San Diego, California, the world's biggest Geographic Information Systems (GIS) event, (14-16 July 2010, Booth, # 616 / 618).
Now widely recognized as the most accomplished innovator developing large format scanners today, Colortrac's range of SmartLF wide format scanners and scanning solutions software sport the longest list of credible productivity benefits available worldwide. The ESRI World-Wide User Conference provides Colortrac Inc with the opportunity to show the GIS community how the many advanced features and benefits available in SmartLF large format map and technical document scanning solutions make demanding GIS professionals more productive by bringing better, higher quality scanned images into the GIS dataset more quickly.
Colortrac's SmartLF large format scanning solutions cover the full range of popular GIS map and drawing sizes, ranging from 24" and 28" (A1 / ARCH D-size) through to 40" and 42" (A0 / ARCH E-size) media widths and wider, even accommodating documents up to 56" (OVERSIZE), the widest scan width available today. In the critical area of high quality scanning resolution, Colortrac's CIS (contact image sensor) map and technical document scanners offer a practical 600dpi optical resolution while Colortrac CCD (charge coupled device) color graphics scanners offer 1200dpi optical resolution, the highest available in their class.
Colortrac Unveil Expanding Large Format Scanner Line-Up at the IRgA Reprographics Show
Colortrac will be demonstrating some new products on their booth #112 at the IRgA 2010 Convention & Trade Show being held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, California, USA, (May 19th - 21st, 2010).
Visitors to the booth will see an advanced high performance A1 / D-size flatbed color scanner. Using CCD optical imaging technology to capture high quality images at high speed, a scan of an 24" x 33" document is saved in less than 20 seconds at 400dpi optical resolution via a high speed Gigabit Ethernet interface. Capable of great accuracy, it is perfect for fragile or uneven materials, like very thick or heavy media, wood grain, fabrics and framed art.
Also debuting at the show is a new and fully-adjustable Universal Repro Stand (URS) that creates an operator-friendly, high productivity, multi-function system.
The ability of the new URS to unify a large format scanner and printer in a single, more productive MFP solution allows reprographics and other wide format scanning professionals to maximize their investment in individual large format scanners and printers. The URS enhances the ease with which large format scanner operators work by allowing the height at which the scanner sits above the printer to be adjusted to that which is most comfortable. Also, the operator can adjust the height and position of the keyboard and mouse and the position and angle of the monitor on the URS in order to create a personalized MFP workstation for maximum man/machine interaction and professional reprographics and other scanning productivity.
Also on display will be the SmartLF Gx+ 56, the world's widest large format color graphics scanner. At the other, shorter end of the scale, Colortrac Inc will be demonstrating two A1 / D-size large format scanners, the 28" wide, CCD-based SmartLF Gx+ 28 and its latest scanner, the new 24" wide, CIS-based SmartLF Ci 24 which uses exactly the same design as the award-winning SmartLF Ci 40. As a desktop scanner, the SmartLF Ci 24 offers the smallest footprint of any similar device. This, coupled with its unique and sensible front exiting media path, offers users with limited space a huge space-saving advantage over rival 24" desktop scanners with much bigger footprints and the disadvantage of desk-disrupting rear exiting media.
Colortrac Celebrate 20 Years Of Award-Winning Large Format Scanner Innovation and Leadership With 27% Unit Sales Growth in 2009
23rd December 2009, St Ives, Cambridge, UK - First incorporated in November 1989, Colortrac has been recognized with a number of notable awards and achievements during its 20th year. In April the Colortrac SmartLF Gx 42 wide format scanner was voted "Top Product 2009" by readers of Wide-Format Imaging magazine. In November Business Equipment Research & Test Laboratories (BERTL) awarded 4.5 Star ?Outstanding? ratings for both the SmartLF Ci 40e and the SmartLF Gx+ T42e large format scanners. Colortrac is the first and only large format scanner manufacturer to achieve this rating for its leading ranges of CIS and CCD technology scanners.
No less impressive is Colortrac?s continuing unit sales growth. In 2009 the company will sell more wide format scanners than at any time in its history, achieving a 27% increase in unit sales and an even bigger increase in market share. Given the difficult trading conditions in many of its markets this is testament to the quality and performance of the SmartLF large format scanner range and the dedication and hard work of our employees and sales partners throughout the world.
Colortrac was founded in 1989 by its managing director Graham Tinn, with the aim of developing an affordable large format color scanning solution for the Oil Exploration industry. Since then, Colortrac has pioneered cost-effective CCD and CIS-based color and monochrome wide format scanners for a wide range of markets. Today, the SmartLF Gx+ Series is Colortrac's sixth generation of CCD large format scanners and its most innovative and accomplished to date. The SmartLF Ci series is Colortrac's exciting new, fourth generation CIS wide format scanner. All Colortrac SmartLF large format scanners support the ISIS (Image and Scanner Interface Specification) standard as used in EDM (Electronic Document Management), the only wide format scanners to do so.
Colortrac's Award Winning SmartLF Ci 40e Large Format Scanner Is Now Available With A Certified ISIS Driver
Colortrac is a leading innovator in large format scanners and scanning solutions software since 1989. Its SmartLF Ci 40e (enhanced color) technical document scanner, recently awarded a BERTL 4 ½-Star ?Outstanding? rating, is now available with a certified ISIS (Image and Scanner Interface Specification) driver.
Created by Pixel Translations (now EMC Corporation) in 1990, ISIS is a software standard for the acquisition, viewing, format conversion, printing and storage of documents in order to ensure consistent and reliable communication between hardware and software. ISIS is the basis for a public domain standard, ANSI/AIIM MS61-1996 Application Programming Interface (API) for Scanners in Document Imaging Systems, issued also as ISO 14984. Over 300, high speed small format document scanners are available with this industry standard, enterprise-level interface which ensures that scanned information is quickly and reliably integrated into EDM (electronic document management) and EDC (electronic document capture) applications for digital distribution, processing and storage.
Colortrac has pioneered the use of ISIS for its large format scanners since 2003, when the Colortrac 3680e scanner ISIS driver was developed. Over the years Colortrac has supplied many customers with its wide format scanners and ISIS drivers. Users find the familiar ISIS scanning interface and workflow reduces staff training costs, and they can be confident that a certified and tested connection, allows easy expansion of their EDM system to manage scanned wide format documents such as technical drawings and maps.
Colortrac Sales and Marketing Director, Peter de Winter-Brown says, ?Recent sales successes and economic conditions have re-focused our marketing efforts in the EDM / EDC market and a key element of our strategy is to strengthen our product offering to these important prospective customers. The SmartLF Ci 40 large format scanner range is ideally suited to EDC / EDM applications with its high speed, colour capability and small footprint.?
