New Océ CS665 Pro Color System Introduced at GRAPH EXPO
October 24, 2008 - Chicago - Océ today announced the Océ CS665 Pro full-color digital printer, the newest addition to the Océ color lineup. The Océ CS665 Pro printer is the next evolution of the successful Océ Color System family. These versatile, cut-sheet devices print, copy and scan with exceptional quality suitable for high-end color applications. The Océ CS665 Pro model features enhanced image quality, improved performance, greater productivity and support for a wider range of jobs.
The Océ Color System family is the first product in its class to receive Fogra certification, an internationally approved standard for sheet-fed and web offset printers. Munich-based Fogra is a leading research center for the printing industry. Fogra certification demonstrates a printer's commitment to the highest quality ISO standards, based on measurable criteria for proofing and printing in a production environment. Fogra certification recognizes that Océ CS printers achieve predictable, measurable quality according to these exacting requirements.
With its speed and feature set, the Océ CS665 system is targeted to commercial printers and in-house print operations with light production requirements. Users can affordably take on more short-run color work and deliver it faster, while maintaining an attractive cost of ownership. Customers gain a unique solution for graphic arts and other color applications that may require variable data or heavier stocks for customized marketing materials, personalized direct mail, on-demand packaging, booklets, and other jobs.
The new Océ CS665 system offers enhancements that help graphic arts professionals and other users deliver outstanding color results for a variety of applications:
- Enhanced density variation for crisp image quality
- Additional side guides to perfectly align stacked output for stapling
- New fold stacker aligns exiting folded sheets
- Large capacity stacker supports tab paper
- Easier adjustments to saddle-stitch booklet finisher
- Increased durability of trimmer unit
- Improved outer system design
Like other members of the Océ Color System family, the Océ CS665 Pro system produces striking color output at production speed. Users can print and copy 65 color or black-and-white pages per minute and choose from seven in-line finishing options: stapler finisher, all-in-one booklet finisher, high capacity stacker, small staple finisher, multi-folding/punch/post inserter, saddle-stitch booklet maker, and perfect binder.
Two versions of the Océ CS665 system are being shown at the GRAPH EXPO® conference. The CS665 Pro system with an EFI® Fiery® color server will print color pages for Roll over Gutenberg, a fully finished book that explores the changing world of book publishing. The new system is also shown with a Creo® Color Server printing covers for an application guide, a color calendar, and a full-color Chicago travel guide. Demonstrating unique capabilities for color workflow, Océ PRISMAprepare™ software automatically splits color and black-and-white pages and directs the color output to the Océ CS665 Pro printer and black-and-white pages to an Océ VarioPrint® 6250 system.
