Locally attached printers have been virtually impossible to manage.  Simply put, the PC is a road-block.  FMAudit released the first version of its Agent in 2005, for the first time removing this road-block.  Today FMAudit released Agent version 2.0.

FMAudit Agent™ is a bi-directional software gateway allowing communication over the PC.  This patent pending approach does not interact with the printing environment.  Instead, the Agent communicates directly with the attached printers, using the same approach as that of their networked counter-parts.  All communication is real-time with the electronically captured meters matching those of the printers' counter page.  Agent supports one or more printers attached via USB or parallel to the PC.  With no configuration required, the Agent can be deployed silently without having to visit each workstation.  When used with supported HP Edgeline, LaserJet and Business InkJet printers and MFP's results include much more, such as multiple meters, device serial number, toner coverage's, consumable levels and machine-generated alerts to name a few.  The Agent is compatible with all three FMAudit collection solutions including FMAudit Viewer USB™, Onsite™ and WebAudit™.
