Canon Australia Recognised With Five BLI Awards

 Sydney, Monday 23rd July 2012: Canon Australia has been awarded five awards by testing and research organisation Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI). Canon was recognised for energy efficiency, value, feature set and scanning capabilities across a number of imageRUNNER, image RUNNER ADVANCE and imageCLASS devices.

Canon received awards in the following categories:

  • BLI Summer “Pick” for Outstanding 41- to 50-ppm A3 Monochrome MFP for imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051 for ease of use, functionality and fast speeds
  • BLI Outstanding Personal A4 Monochrome MFP for imageCLASS MF5980dw for ease of set up and use, excellent productivity and reliability.
  • BLI Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency award for imageCLASS MF5980dw for its energy-saving performance. This device was tested wired.
  • BLI Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency award for imageCLASS 8380Cdw for its energy-saving performance, outstripping its competitors in BLI’s tests and faster than average wake up from sleep mode times. This device was tested wired.
  • BLI Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency award for imageRUNNER 1750i for its energy-saving performance, outstripping its competitors in BLI’s tests.

“We really like the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051’s control panel design,” said Pete Emory, BLI’s manager of laboratory testing, “especially the integrated Quick Menu for very easy customisation. And this device’s feature-rich scan function leads the industry for ease of use and functionality.”

Other strengths of the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4051 cited by BLI include very small compressed colour scan file sizes, fast booklet print and copy speeds, and simple paper and toner replacement procedures.

BLI European Lab Manager Ian Latham said in relation to the imageCLASS MF5980dw, “We were very impressed with its excellent overall simplex and duplex copy and print productivity, its faster than average first-page-out times and its first-copy-out times, which were the fastest in this class. In fact, its first-page-out time from overnight sleep is twice as fast as the average.” The imageCLASS MF5980dw also proved to be impeccably reliable, with no misfeeds or service calls required over its two-month durability testing.
