New Simple, Green, Durable Océ PlotWave 300 All-In-One System Saves Money and Space
April 30, 2009, Pittsburgh, PA – Océ, an international leader in digital document management, today announced the new Océ PlotWave® 300 system, a monochrome multifunction system that makes it simpler and less time-consuming for users to print, copy and scan low volumes of technical documents. This compact, all-in-one large format system is ideal for businesses looking to save money and space in their document production process. The Océ PlotWave 300 system is on display in the Océ booth #709 at the International Reprographics Association (IRgA) Convention and Trade Show, April 29 – May 1 in Pittsburgh, PA, and in the Océ booth #1657 at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) National Convention, April 30 – May 2 in San Francisco, CA.
Customers looking for ease of use
"This new system addresses the trend to decentralized printing that we are seeing in technical documentation. In such an environment, systems must be easy to use, energy efficient and quiet, instantly ready to print when needed, and able to withstand the workload of multiple users," said Patrick Chapuis, President Wide Format Printing Systems division of Océ North America. "The Océ PlotWave 300 system, with its simple operation, energy efficiency, and durable design, satisfies all these needs better than any other product in its class."
The next wave in green technology cuts energy usage in half
Conventional roller-based systems have long warm-up and cool-down periods which waste time and energy. The Océ Plot Wave 300 printer incorporates patented Océ Radiant Fusing technology to provide the most efficient way to fuse toner onto paper. Thin metallic tiles made of a highly durable alloy are used to efficiently radiate heat so they heat up and cool down very quickly. That means the system starts up instantly, uses half the energy of comparable systems, makes no noise when it is idling and requires no extra ventilation to keep it cool. The system also uses a catalytic convertor system so that that virtually no ozone emissions are produced, creating a healthier working environment.

Dynamic Wedge
EFI's patent-pending Dynamic Wedge™ is a revolutionary technology that checks and initiates optimisation of key colours - including spot colours - based on a dynamically created wedge. Unlike a static wedge (for instance the Ugra/Fogra media wedge), the software always takes into consideration the job's key colours and all spot colours relevant to colour analysis. Dynamic Wedge uses its advanced algorithms to analyse these colours. It also ensures the highest accuracy of output devices onsite and at remote locations. It is an essential tool for controlling key colours either in proofing or wide format production. Its dynamic analysis and tracking of spot colours makes it perfect for the packaging applications. Dynamic Wedge is a critical tool for matching logo and other special colours in CMYK. Another unique advantage of the Dynamic Wedge, which is essential for colour-critical applications, is its ability to automatically verify colour accuracy against standards such as ISO 12647-7.
